Censored, Banned & Bowdlerized: The Index of Prohibited Books

In celebration of Dr. Robin Vose’s newest book, The Index of Prohibited Books, Eddie Paul, JPL’s Senior Director of Library & Learning Services, will be present and in conversation with the author. As part of the Dr. Michael D. Paul Rare Books Initiative, he will be sharing two examples of censored works from the JPL’s rare books collection: a 16th-century Biblical commentary by Judah Abrabanel, and a 17th-century work by a philosopher who ran afoul of religious authorities.
