On December 17, 2023, the Jewish Public Library’s Russian Literary Club wrapped up the season with a dazzling year-end event. “Waiting for a Miracle,” a show that combined elements of fairy tales, captivating performances, and even a little bit of dancing on chairs, was a resounding success! With 150 people in attendance and a cafe-style setup that created an intimate atmosphere, the evening was a delightful blend of entertainment, camaraderie, and celebration. Some highlights from the afternoon were the video greetings from renowned Israeli actor and singer, Vladimir Fridman, as well as Toronto telejournalist Maxim Kravchinsky.

The event also served as a poignant moment to reflect on the Russian Literary Club’s accomplishments over the past year. Attendees were treated to a nostalgic recollection of the Club’s events, highlighting the literary discussions, cultural celebrations, and intellectual exchanges that defined the year.

With the warmth of community and the spirit of celebration, the Russian Literary Club bid farewell to 2023 in style, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the upcoming year, starting with a book presentation from Maxim Kravchinsky on January 14! Stay tuned for details.

See below for photos of this fantastic event, and we are excited for more great events from our vibrant Russian community in 2024.
