Youth Space
Welcome to the Norman Berman Children’s Library (NBCL), the Youth Space section of the Jewish Public Library.
Serving kids of all ages, we offer collections in in English, French, Hebrew, Yiddish, Spanish and Russian, as well as CDs, DVDs, kid’s and teen magazines and early literacy kits. Our most popular collection remains our Judaica: materials on the Jewish holidays, Jewish life and history, the exciting world of Jewish storytelling and books that cater to every family’s level of comfort for content selected for their little ones. There are also boardgames to check out. Reserving materials is easy through our online catalogue.
Your membership [link] will also give you access to our eBook Collection. For research, our downloadable ELF child-safe browser makes the internet a little bit safer for kids.
Programming is year round at the NBCL for all ages and in multiple languages (storytime, makerspace events, author visits, films, and so much more!). Please check our events [LINK] page to register.
Teen and young adult materials and programming are also a huge part of what we do. The TD Young Adult collection is ever-growing and our teen festival, MTLYAFest brings authors and readers together every May for a full day of celebration of all things YA.
Our friendly and devoted staff go above and beyond to help children, teens and their parents. We can’t wait to meet you! Connect with us in person or through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (or whatever the next social media craze will be ;)).
