“In 1944, the Jewish Public Library sponsored the first comprehensive book exhibit in the Montreal Jewish community, in conjunction with the Jewish Congress and the YMHA.” (Our Library; 1914-1957, p71)

“In 1946, the annual book exhibit, which the library organized in conjunction with the Canadian Jewish Congress and nearly a score of other organizations in the community, on the theme of “Jewish Books Throughout the Ages” was held at the Workmen’s Circle hall, although the formal inauguration of the book festival was in the YM-YWHA building.” (Our Library; 1914-1957, p72)

The book exhibit of 1947 was held in the hall of the YMHA and included exhibits on Modern Yiddish literature and on the ruination of European Jewry. (Our Library; 1914-1957, p72)
