In honor of the CSUQ’s donation of the archives and documents of ALEPH Centre d’études juives contemporaines, this celebration will retrace, through the invitation of personalities who have marked its history, the key moments of this unique independent place of study, founded and managed for fifteen years by an exceptional woman, Sonia Sarah Lipsyc. A memorial of great importance to the Sephardic and francophone community, founded on the principles of accessibility and inclusiveness, clarifying and popularizing the major texts of Jewish tradition so that “no one is a stranger to what belongs to them”.
Join us for an evening of conversation between ALEPH founder Sonia Sarah Lipsyc, UQAM professor Anne Elaine Cliche, and their invited speakers. An ideal Jewish education library will be displayed on site, as well as a number of artefacts from the archival acquisition of ALEPH materials.
Organised by the JPL in collaboration with the CSUQ.
