Within the framework of UQAM’s Hispanophone week, we will have on display a selection of rare books from the Rare Books and Special Collections departments of the UQAM Central Library as well as the Jewish Public Library.
A panel of four researchers will highlight the exchanges, meetings and disagreements between Jewish, Muslim and Christian thinkers of the 14th and 15th centuries. The discussion will shed light on the role of Spain and the Spanish language in the circulation of knowledge from the transition of the Medieval Ages to Modernity, and, through this lens, the ever-present importance of tolerance and dialogue.
